“I was camping at Lake Cootharaba in the Noosa hinterland area trying to get some good shots of the lake and surrounds. There were kangaroos grazing in the grassland nearby and I was hoping I could grab a few good shots at sunrise. This photo is taken literally right beside my campspot. This ‘roo came down and sat at the point on the left of the image. The ’roo looked at me, then looked at the water. Knowing it was only a few inches deep, I instictively put my camera up to my eye and held my breath. Off he went. 3 hops later and “click”. This image was shot on film and I had to wait until the ‘roo was mid-frame before I took the photo as I’d have to wind on the film. As luck would have it, I got all the exposure setting right and this is the result. Needless to say I protected the un-processed film with my life and when it was processed I was thrilled to see this photograph. What you see is the full negative.
